Solar Eclipse Information

eclipse
On August 21, 2017, for the first time since 1918, a solar eclipse will be visible on a path across the United States. DCCS will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. DCCS has been busy planning to make this once in a lifetime event a unique learning experience for our students.

All DCCS students (with their signed permission slip) will be allowed to go outside and participate in activities and view the period of totality (“Solar Eclipse Viewing”). Classroom teachers will be providing additional details regarding viewing location for their particular class as the event approaches.

Harmony 3 Info

harmony3Harmony 3 Family Access

Harmony has been updated to Harmony 3 Family Access. Harmony 3 brings some great features to parents and students, such as viewing grades, attendance, and lunch account usage and balance. Parents will create an account and then add a student to it with an access code that was emailed earlier in the school year.  To add multiple students to your account, you will need the access code for each child.  Please follow the directions on the email to access Harmony 3.  If you did not receive an email it may be because your email address has not been updated in our system. If this is the case, please contact the school office to get your information updated and receive your access code(s).  Any account that you might have had with the old Harmony system is no longer active, and you should create a new account with Harmony 3 Family Access.

Digital Citizenship

NDES Digital Citizenship Vision

North Decatur Elementary School understands the privileges and responsibilities of being a 1:1 school. Among these is the responsibility to be good digital citizens. We will practice good digital citizenship by being safe, responsible, and respectful users of technology. Staff will increase their own digital citizenship skills and model these through instruction and interaction with students. Students will use their devices to learn, create, and connect in a manner that protects private information, maintains a positive self-image, treats others with respect, and gives credit to other creators.
